Minnesota local governments in 2012 spent $7.8 million on lobbying services, according to a report from the Minnesota State Auditor. Local government entities that were involved in the Minnesota Vikings stadium legislation were among the big spenders.
Despite the sizable amounts spent last year, nearly every measure of local government lobbying showed a decrease from 2009 to 2010.
