Minnesota Management and Budget Commissioner Jim Schowaler said the Legislature and the administration should use a projected surplus to build up the state's reserve accounts.
The cause of immigration reform has led Bill Blazar a bit outside his organization’s usual comfort zone. The second-in-command at the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce has been with the organization for two decades, but his position advocating in favor of comprehensive immigration reform in Washington, D.C. represents the first time he’s undertaken a major role on a federal issue.
Despite the positive findings, Obermueller, a former one-term state legislator from Eagan, still faces an uphill climb against Kline on several counts.
Both districts are viewed as competitive by national Democratic strategists, who targeted Kline and Paulsen in a government shutdown-related online advertising campaign.
