Beihoffer, an longtime photo I.D. advocate and former chair of the 2nd Congressional District Republicans, easily beat Anderson in a 215-124 vote cast by the state GOP's central committee. The election was one of the last items on the party's busy agenda for the weekend, which included endorsing a U.S. Senate candidate and visit from presidential candidate and Congressman Ron Paul.

Following a pledge to "max out" financial support for state legislative candidates, Bachmann has registered a Minnesota-based version of her MICHELEPAC.
The Zellers endorsement comes on top of nearly three dozen House GOP caucus members who've backed Bills thus far.
Rick Nolan will be getting a little help stocking his campaign war chest Wednesday evening in the nation's capital. Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Fraken and the rest of Minnesota's DFL legislative delegation are scheduled to attend the fundraiser.

Now that Session 2012 is concluded and legislators have fled the Capitol, it's campaign season once again. And to help you track the races in all 201 of Minnesota's redrawn legislative districts, we present PIM's biennial chart of legislative races, 2012 edition.
The pair of complaints come from allegations that ALEC is involved in lobbying activities but presents itself for tax and campaign finance purposes as a charitable organization.
More than half of Minnesotans approve of the job being done by Gov. Mark Dayton, according to a new poll released by SurveyUSA. Among registered voters surveyed, 56 percent indicated support for Dayton's performance, compared to 33 percent who expressed disapproval.
In his veto letter sent on Monday, Dayton said while the new bill is a slimmed down version of the bill he vetoed just a few weeks earlier, it still adds to the state’s projected deficit by $46 million this biennium and $73 million in the next.
The Hegseth campaign also announced the support state lawmakers Rep. Kurt Daudt and Sen. Dave Brown and former state GOP Chair Ron Eibensteiner.
At a Capitol news conference on Friday, the day after lawmakers adjourned sine die, Gov. Mark Dayton said he had hoped for a bill closer to the $775 million bonding bill he proposed in January, but the Republican majorities slimmed down bill was “better than nothing” to create construction jobs.
