
Speculation surrounds the probable impact of the Supreme Court’s Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission decision enabling corporations to spend money on express advocacy. Though the only tax proposal on the table now at the Minnesota Legislature is the governor’s pitch to lower corporate income taxes, that’s bound to change as DFLers take a hard look at ways to increase the state’s revenues through tax or fee hikes or by modifying some of the exclusions in current tax law.
