
U.S. Rep. John Kline will be among nine Republicans attending President Obama's much ballyhooed bi-partisan health care summit on Thursday. As the ranking Republican on the House's Education and Labor Committee, the four-term legislator could be a key player in discussions. But given that participants can't even agree on seat assignments, the prospects for making progress look grim.

U.S. Rep. John Kline has drawn a challenger for the Republican nomination. The Faribault Daily News reports that Mahamoud Wardere intends to run against the four-term incumbent in the 2nd Congressional District.

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann raised more money in 2009 than any other House member from Minnesota. The 6th Congressional District legislator pulled in more than $1.5 million and reported having just over $1 million in the bank.

U.S. Rep. John Kline, R-Minn., today endorsed Waseca businessman Mike Parry to fill the state Senate seat of Sen. Dick Day, R-Owatonna.
