Across the nation and in Minnesota, Republicans have had the wind at their backs this year. A Gallup Poll this week announced the results of a survey of registered voters using a generic ballot and found that Republicans had a 10-percent lead over Democrats, which was the GOP's largest margin in the history of the poll's mid-term survey, which was first conducted in 1942.
