Star Tribune cartoonist Steve Sack painted Speaker of the House — and DFL gubernatorial hopeful — Margaret Anderson Kelliher in a not particularly flattering light in a cartoon published on the newspaper’s Sunday opinion page.
The cartoon, drawn in the wake of last week’s Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board ruling that Kelliher’s campaign and the Minnesota DFL Party intentionally violated state campaign laws that prohibit “earmarking” campaign contributions and redirecting them through the state party.
The Kelliher campaign was fined $9,000 and the party $15,000 for the violations.
