GOP gubernatorial candidate Marty Seifert raised more than $262,000 in 2009. He finished the year with $133,000 in cash on hand. He received more than 1,800 contributions from individuals in the six months that his campaign operated in 2009.

Seifert, a state representative from Marshall, said his numbers place him atop the heap among Republican candidates for governor.

“I am confident that ours is the only Republican campaign with the necessary resources to win the GOP endorsement and win in November,” Seifert said.

Among the details, Seifert said he received the maximum amount of so-called large contributions between $250 and $500 with $95,800.

He received nearly 75,000 contributions in December.

He said he didn’t accept money from registered lobbyists.

Seifert transferred $20,000 from his defunct state House campaign account. He also loaned his campaign $20,000. Both the House account transfer and the loan are included in his year-end contribution total.
