Freshman U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen, R-Minn., has raised almost $1.2 million in campaign contributions, including $274,863 in the final quarter of 2009, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

Paulsen has raised $1,199,679 for his re-election campaign.

Paulsen released his fundraising numbers today, ahead of the Jan. 31 deadline by which all candidates for federal office are required to submit reports to the FEC.

Paulsen’s campaign reported $943,923 in cash on hand at the end of 2009.

“I continue to be honored and blessed with the opportunity to serve the people of Minnesota’s Third District in Congress,” Paulsen said in a statement. “Minnesotans are tired of Washington’s spending habits and want their representatives to be results-oriented and deliver on their promises.”
