Emmer, Thissen announce campaign contribution numbers

Gubernatorial candidates Paul Thissen and Tom Emmer today released their fundraising numbers through 2009.

Thissen, a DFL state representative from Minneapolis, raised $370,000 since he launched his campaign in 2008. Thissen had between $85,000 and $88,000 in cash-on-hand at the end of the year, according to Thissen’s campaign manager Gia Vitali. The cash-on-hand numbers are approximate because the campaign hasn’t yet filed its official campaign finance paperwork for the year, Vitali said.

Since Thissen entered the race in 2008, 1,900 people have donated to his campaign. In 2009, the campaign received 1,567 individual donations.

Emmer, a state representative from Delano, raised $115,000 in 2009. Most of the money was raised in November and December, including $50,000 in December, according to a campaign press release. The campaign hasn’t yet announced cash-on-hand numbers, according to a spokesman.

Emmer launched his campaign in July.
