Coleman and the GOP rumor mill

Today’s GOP rumor mill can be divided into two major camps. Camp one thinks Pat Anderson’s tying her departure from the governor’s race to Norm Coleman likely getting in is good maneuvering on Anderson’s part.

Her campaign wasn’t gaining traction. Perhaps her fundraising numbers due at the end of the month weren’t going to be good; or worse, a significant part of the money she spent on the race came from her own checkbook, and Coleman provided a face-saving exit strategy.

Camp two thinks Coleman is definitely getting in, and that Anderson was smart to move to the state auditor’s race. This camp thinks Coleman has been sounding like a candidate for weeks, although many in this camp wonder if Coleman can afford to run, given that  the debt on his house is still part of the GOP conversation.

Then there’s camp three (a party of one, actually) who proffers this fun thought: What if Anderson is right, and Coleman enters … the state auditor’s race?

Republicans think it’s ok to let poor people starve to death, to have for-profit schools only for the wealthy, to have for-profit health care only for the wealthy, to have civilized living conditions only for the wealthy, to have retirement only for the wealthy. I make $25,000 a year, so I’m definitely going to vote GOP. Yay, Republicans!
