The Coleman-for-governor rumors: Odds are he’s in (and that Laura Brod’s his running mate)

At the end of a day in which the rumors were flying furiously — and after talking to at least a dozen people — I figure the odds on Norm Coleman getting into the governor’s race now stand at 3-1 in favor. And for what it’s worth, the level of excitement around Coleman’s camp seems to be growing palpably.
But there’s an even better bet to be made if Coleman does get in the race: Rep. Laura Brod (R-New Prague) will be Coleman’s lieutenant governor running mate. Brod, as you may recall, somewhat mysteriously withdrew her name as a possible GOP gubernatorial candidate late last summer for health reasons (without any further specificity then or to date).

I’m glad the people in the Coleman camp are excited . . .someone should be. He lost to Franken for a reason - he’s not the guy for this job. Does the “Coleman Camp” really believe he could win the party endoresment? Or does he simply plan on ignoring a primary or maybe as an independent? This has the makings of a disaster. And for what, to feed an ego?
Norm, just move one with your life, write a book, become a consultant, lobbyist, speaker or a fellow somewhere. Please, just leave this alone, lest more people will dislike you.

Rep Laura Brod should be on top of this ticket!! She will need to work on Norm’s liberal positions before conservatives vote for this ticket!

I agree with the previous comments. Coleman cannot win enough conservatives to make him viable here anymore. Step aside Norm, we want fresh faces with true conservative credentials and ideas.

Just a query–is there a well-known GOP’er with similar name recognition as Rybak ? I haven’t followed the GOP race much but sure would like to know.
