Bakk’s campaign has raised more than $360,000

DFL gubernatorial candidate Tom Bakk raised $361,927 through 2009.

Bakk, a state senator from Cook, this morning said his campaign ended 2009 with $137,830 in cash on hand.

Bakk, the chairman of the Senate’s Taxes Committee, started raising money in May 2008.

“Between raising $153,245 in 2008, $208,682 in 2009, and meeting the fundraising goal for January 2010, I will have $400,000 to spend on the endorsement process,” Bakk said.

Bakk received received donations from 1,278 individuals. Bakk didn’t loan his campaign any money, said Campaign Manager Dave Griggs.

Bakk is competing in a crowded DFL field for governor. The DFL State Convention is scheduled for the weekend of April 23 in Duluth.
