Minnesota has two senators again.

Sen.-elect Al Franken became Sen. Al Franken a few minutes ago after being sworn in by Vice President Joe Biden on the floor of the U.S. Senate.

The whole thing took less than a minute — far less time than the almost 8-month recount in which Franken bested incumbent Sen. Norm Coleman.

In fact, the swearing-in lasted far less time than the sustained applause that followed, which went on for at least two minutes.

Franken was accompanied by former Vice President Walter Mondale and Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who has spent the last eight months as Minnesota’s only senator.

The junior senator from Minnesota has been assigned to the SenateJudiciary Committee, Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, as well as Indian Affairs and the Special Committee on Aging.

I think there should be a penalty for Minnesota like in college sports where they lose a Senator for four years for sending such a clown to represent them. What an embarrassment. To bad Pat Paulsen is not around any more so we could send him to the White House. Well that would actually be an upgrade.
