It’s been widely noted that Gov. Tim Pawlenty didn’t fare too well in the straw poll conducted at last weekend’s CPAC gathering of conservative true believers, snaring just 2 percent of the vote. Maybe Pawlenty can take some consolation from the words of one-time John McCain adviser John Weaver. According to a lengthy story about Pawlenty posted yesterday at Bloomberg News, "Weaver said many of the politicians who show up at national Republican conferences don’t represent mainstream Republican voters, and the winners of straw polls rarely emerge as the ultimate party nominee. [Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt] Romney, 61, has won three years in a row."
If you’re curious to see what Pawlenty is up to these days when he’s not putting in time at his day job, here’s a trio of videos from the CPAC weekend: his turn on center stage, plus a short talk in front of members of the organization Rebuild the Party and an interview with some kid from the American Future Fund.
