Legislators, lobbyists host Capitol Hill fundraiser for Rick Nolan
Rick Nolan will be getting a little help stocking his campaign war chest Wednesday evening in the nation’s capital. Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Fraken and the rest of Minnesota’s DFL legislative delegation are scheduled to attend the fundraiser.
Also slated to attend are a pair of legislators — Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin and California Rep. George Miller — that Nolan served with during his previous tenure in Washington from 1975 to 81.
The fundraiser is taking place at the home of Dennis McGrann, a Lockgridge Grindal Nauen lobbyist with numerous Minnesota clients. Individuals are expected to contribute at least $125, while PACS are asked to kick in at least $2,500. Nolan’s campaign had just $40,000 in the bank at the end of March.
Earlier this month, Nolan received the DFL endorsement in the race to take on GOP Rep. Chip Cravaack in the 8th Congressional District. He will face former state Sen. Tarryl Clark and Duluth City Councilor Jeff Anderson in an August primary.
