With DFLers in the 8th Congressional District set to hold their endorsing convention this weekend, Jeff Anderson announced he’s got the support of two more northeastern Minnesota state legislators.
DFL Reps. Tom Huntley of Duluth and David Dill of Crane Lake are backing the Duluth City Councilor’s bid. Anderson is in the running against fellow Democrats Tarryl Clark and Rick Nolan in seeking the nomination to challenge GOP incumbent Congressman Chip Cravaack this fall.
Among the three candidates, Nolan is the only one who has pledged to abide by the endorsement and has been regarded as the likely favorite among the delegates who will convene on Saturday in Duluth. Anderson’s and Clark’s campaigns, however, have circulated their own polling in recent weeks that shows the broader race is close.
