Wisconsin legislators divided on wetlands rules

A Republican-backed bill to change how projects near wetlands are regulated would streamline the application process, but Democrats say the legislation tackles a problem that doesn’t exist. Assembly Bill 463 would create a general and individual permitting process for applicants looking to complete projects that include dredging or filling a wetland.
