GOP Sen. Jeremy Miller to join Dayton on trade mission
Freshman Republican Sen. Jeremy Miller plans to join in on Gov. Mark Dayton‘s trade mission to South Korea in early October.
The Winona GOPer, one of the youngest in his class of lawmakers, will tour businesses with the governor in Seoul, South Korea, as well as businesses in China during a solo trip planned just prior to the trade mission. They will also meet with Minnesota companies based in South Korea and visit the U.S. Embassy there.
South Korea is one of the state’s strongest export markets, with high demands for medical goods, machinery, plastics, paper and food, according to the Minnesota Trade Office.
“The number one issue facing our state and our country right now is job creation,” Miller said in a statement. “This trip will offer valuable insight into how Minnesota companies can improve trade relations, expand operations and help grow our economy.”
