Emmer adds former Coleman staffer to communications team

Tom Emmer’s gubernatorial campaign has a new head of media operations.

Public relations executive Carl Kuhl recently joined team Emmer as communications director. Kuhl previously worked for former U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman as a constituent policy liaison, and as communications director for former Democratic St. Paul Mayor Randy Kelly. Kuhl came to the campaign from Kuhl Partners, a public relations company he helped found.

Kuhl is replacing Bill Walsh , who recently left the campaign to return to his job as communications director for the state’s Department of Education.
